To prepare movie fans for the best movie going experience possible this summer season, Anything After just released a blockbuster of an update to its iOS and Android apps.

As the credits start rolling at the theaters, moviegoers may find themselves wondering, “Is there anything after the credits?” Some movies include bloopers or even a bonus scene that may hint at an anticipated sequel during or after the credits. This is where Anything After comes in. With its bonus scene indicator feature, powered by moviegoers, Anything After informs its users if there’s anything worth waiting for after the movie.

In version 1.1, users can experience an improved movie list loading time and a new “Voters & Spoilers” section. Also, it offers expanded movie lists, organized into “Opening Soon,” “In Theaters,” and “Older Titles” sections.

In addition, Anything After’s blockbuster update brings the following improvements:

On the movie list, Search is now accessible by tapping the search icon at the top left of the screen.

An improved flow of voting ~ introducing a loading animation while your vote is being submitted

When sharing a movie on Facebook, the link showed a movie poster, but now also includes the movie title.

A custom movie poster is now appearing when a poster is unavailable (especially for those smaller releases).

To quickly scroll to the top of the list, tap the round icon at the bottom right of the movie list.

New menu icon at top right

Plus some other misc. improvements

And while we were at it, we ninja-flying-side-kicked some bugs into oblivion!

As the summer blockbuster season approaches, Anything After is a must have app for those moviegoers heading to the theater.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, as well as Android devices running 1.0 or later, Anything After is currently available at AnythingAfter.com, in the iTunes App Store and on Google Play.

About Anything After

Anything After launched in late-January of 2013 with a goal of improving the movie-going experience. As a moviegoer himself, Founder, Damien Dalli, had a simple question while at the theater – “Is there anything after the credits and if so, is it actually worth the wait?” This seeded the idea that grew into the Anything After app.

Anything After has quickly established itself as a fun, engaging and useful app designed specifically for moviegoers, gaining a fair amount of traction with help from a feature by AppGratis – receiving nearly 11,000 new users in just 24 hours. For more information, visit: AnythingAfter.com

About Damien Dalli

Damien Dalli is a UI/UX designer with 14+ years experience, most well-known for being Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at myLanguage (myLanguage.me), and designing the TechCrunch Disrupt and Launch Festival award winning app, Vocre Translate (Vocre.com).

In 1997, there were “Volcano” and “Dante’s Peak.” In 1998, there were “Armageddon” and “Deep Impact.” In 2003 and 2004, there were “Finding Nemo” and “Shark Tale,” respectively. And now, we have TodoMovies and Anything After.

Nope, those last two aren’t movies. Rather, they’re iOS apps about movies. I only went with the above introduction to emphasize their similarity and the proximity of their update’s release dates.

A couple of days ago, TodoMovies, an auxiliary feature of which is a bonus scene indicator, received a “blockbuster” update. As it turns out, Anything After, whose core feature is a bonus scene indicator, also received a “blockbuster” update.

Anything After’s latest update includes improved movie list loading time and a new “Voters & Spoilers” section. Also, it offers expanded movie lists organized into “Opening Soon,” “In Theaters,” and “Older Titles” sections.

In addition, Anything After’s blockbuster update brings the following improvements:

On the movie list, Search is now accessible by tapping the search icon at the top left of the screen.

We’ve improved the whole flow of voting ~ introducing a loading animation while your vote is being submitted.

When sharing a movie on Facebook, the link now actually not only includes the movie poster, but also the movie title.

Added a custom movie poster for when a poster is unavailable (especially for those smaller releases).

Quick way to scroll to the top of the list, tap the round icon at the bottom right of the movie list.

New menu icon at top right.

Plus some other misc. improvements.

And while we were at it, we ninja-flying-side-kicked some bugs into oblivion!

Your watching a movie and the credits start rolling, you get up and notice a group of people still waiting, do they know something I don’t You ask. Thanks to the great developers of Anything After, we can now find out if any movie, even those in cinema, have footage in or after the credits. A pal of mine mentioned the app, created by Damien Dalli, that addresses the question of, “Is there anything after the credits?”

The app itself is 100% crowd-sourced, with a yes or no interface confirming if there is footage at the end of the credits. A quick test search for Django Unchained and I found out there was a scene hidden at the end, which I didn’t know about.

From their Google Play description: “Ever gone to the movies and wondered, “Is there anything after the credits?” Well, there’s an app for that! Save yourself from missing a bonus scene, waiting for no reason + more by downloading Anything After.” It’s actually a pretty cool app, helpful for these exact kind of situations.

I was more curious if it’ll work at the first midnight screening of The Avengers 2. Will we know that quickly if there is or isn’t something? It’s smart this is a crowd-sourced app but I hope it doesn’t get cheated just for the sake of making people stay.

Thanks to the wonder and amazement of mobile applications, we can now find out if any movie, even those in theaters now, have footage in or after the credits. Thanks to a good friend, I was tipped off on an app called Anything After, created by Damien Dalli, that addresses the question of, “Is there anything after the credits?” It’s essentially a crowd-sourced database, with a yes or no interface confirming if there is footage at the end of the credits. A recent example: Django Unchained – didn’t know there was a scene hidden at the end? Should’ve had this!

Click on the screenshots I took below to download the app. It’s totally free for a limited time, so get it now:

From their App Store description: “Ever gone to the movies and wondered, ‘Is there anything after the credits?’ Well, there’s an app for that! Save yourself from missing a bonus scene, waiting for no reason + more by downloading Anything After.” It’s actually a pretty cool app, helpful for these kind of questions and situations. I’m just curious if it’ll work at, say, the first midnight screening of The Avengers 2. Will we know that quickly if there is or isn’t something? Maybe we should just say through the credits anyway, I’d trust Marvel. It’s smart this is a crowd-sourced app (“Powered by you, the Moviegoer!”) but I hope it doesn’t get gamed just for the sake of making people stay. It’s available for iOS and Android – official site. Cool?

Some movies include bonus scenes after the credits roll, and it would be nice to know before sitting through seven minutes of credits. That’s exactly what Anything After provides, as it’s a crowd sourced utility to let you know if the particular movie you’re watching has any bonus scenes.

The bonus scenes could be bloopers, extended clips, or even snippets for a potential sequel. The Marvel movies are some of the most well known for bonus content, but more studios are adding them, to give you incentive to sit through the huge list of people who contributed to the film you just paid to see. Anything After provides a full list of movies that are currently in theaters, and simply lists if it’s worth staying or not. That rating is based on what other moviegoers just like you have said. In fact, you could add your own helpful tip on whether or not there’s anything after the credits.

Anything After (Free, iPhone) has a simple scope, but executes it perfectly to provide just the information you’re looking for if you go to the theaters. The app is similar to After Flick, but Anything After has an outstanding design with a seemingly larger base of users, which the app is dependent upon.

Are you the kind of person who jumps up at the end of a movie, skipping the credits to get to the parking lot (or restroom – thanks, giant soda tub) before everyone else? If so, you’ve probably missed some pretty neat after credit experiences, called stingers. These are extra little bits of movie, teasers, or even bloopers, that are shown after the credits roll to reward the die-hard movie goers for their patience. The recent run of Marvel movies, for example, all teased the eventual Avengers movie at the end of Captain America, The Hulk, and Iron Man. If you left early, you’d have missed it.

Luckily, now, there’s an app to make sure you never do, and, conversely, you don’t sit around for an entire credit roll for no reason.

Called Anything After, the app lists current release movies and whether they have a post-credit stinger that’s worth waiting for. The app uses crowd-sourced information to gather intel from movies out in theaters. When you log into the app with Facebook, you can add to the body of knowledge of these stingers with a simple “Yeah,” or “Nope,” and help others using the app know when to stay put and when to jet to the lobby.

Give this free, universal app a try, and let us know what you think in the comments below. Together, we’re better!

Get your full money’s worth at the movies by not missing any extra footage!
✔ Quickly find out if there’s a post-credits scene (stinger) after the movie – without having to wait – right on your phone!
✔ See if it’s actually worth the wait.
✔ Beat the traffic and the long line at the restroom, especially if you know there’s nothing you might miss during or after the credits ~ your bladder will thank you after that extra large drink.

I remember when “Iron Man” came out in 2008, and how angry people were when they realized they were supposed to stick around until the end of the credits to see the “bonus scene” with Samuel L. Jackson. Most of the time, a movie theater indicates whether there is a post-credits scene by keeping the house lights down low. But if you want to make doubly sure that you won’t miss anything by leaving the theater before the credits are over, you should check out Anything After, an app developed by Damien Dalli.

What is it and what does it do

Main Functionality

Anything After is a tool that lets users know which films have post-credits scenes (aka “stinger” scenes.) In addition, users weigh in on whether these post-credits scenes are worth sticking around for.

Pros

Remarkably for such a new app, Anything After was crash-free during testing

Films are organized by what’s currently in theaters, and what’s new/coming soon

A blessing for anyone who’s dying for a trip to the bathroom after downing a giant soda or bag of candy

Easy to send feedback from within the app

Cons

For voting, Anything After uses Facebook as the login system (but the developers have said they are open to adding Twitter login as well in future updates)

The app currently only tracks stinger scenes in movies that are coming soon or in theaters (if you want to know whether your DVD/Blu-ray copy of a film has a stinger, you’ll have to find out the old-fashioned way.)

Since the app only provides info for coming soon/in theater movies, it would make more sense to organize titles alphabetically for easy browsing

Discussion

Released about a week ago, Anything After is a great resource for anyone who want to get the full value of their admission ticket. There’s nothing worse than leaving the theater and learning later that you didn’t see a scene in the movie that you paid for. It’s also great that users can send feedback so easily from within the app.

One thing that is really disappointing is the lack of “stinger” information for movies that aren’t new releases. The overall app experience would be a lot more comprehensive if it included info about post-credit scenes for movies that are out of theaters and on store shelves. Hopefully, this will be addressed in a future update.

What Anything After gets 100% right (besides the killer design aesthetic) is the ability to rate these stinger scenes. Now, users will know if there are scenes in the first place, and can then make an informed decision about whether the scenes are worth sticking around for.

Conclusion and download link

By the time summer blockbuster season rolls around, you’ll have a great tool in your app arsenal to keep you in the know about which films have post-credit “stinger” scenes and which films do not. It’s annoying that it only tracks stinger scenes in movies that are in theaters now, but hopefully future updates will include a comprehensive list of films on DVD and Blu-ray that have stinger scenes.

Until I visited the download page of the newly released Anything After app, I had no idea what a stinger is. Apparently, the scene (or scenes) that appear after and during movie credits have a name, and that is what they’re called. Many movie-goers have a love-hate relationship with stingers. They are surely worth waiting for if you get to see the epilogue of the plot or some bloopers interspersed with the credits. On the other hand, you are likely to be disappointed in most cases since not many movies have stingers, and you are just going to waste your time if you wait for the credits to roll by while everyone else rushes to the parking lot. That’s where Anything After can help you. This app lists stinger alerts for all the movies that are in theaters presently, without throwing any spoilers. You are just informed whether there is anything after the credits, and if it is worth the wait. The app’s content is based on user feedback, and you can contribute to the Anything After community simply by linking your Facebook account with it.

Since Anything After is designed for people who like watching movies in theaters, only recent releases are listed by the app. You are likely to find the popular titles simply by browsing through the home page but in case the movie is not listed, try using the search bar at the top of the screen. Movies with and without stingers are distinguished by color-coding. The ones with a blue strip next to their name have something after the credits, while a red strip means you should leave your seat as soon as the cast names start rolling on the screen.

While there is no need to go to the movie’s dedicated page if you are just hunting for stingers, you can still visit it for extra information regarding the stinger. Anything After has six standard questions that it asks everyone who wants to provide information about a movie. You will have to tell if you liked the movie on the whole, whether the stinger is worth waiting for, and if was funny or indicative of a sequel. The answers to these questions are shown on each movie’s home page in percentage form.

You don’t need to sign up for an account if you just intend to use Anything After for viewing stinger info. The app is free for a limited time on iOS, and you’ll have to dish out $0.99 for the Android version.
